You can customize the column width and row height using the Format feature, which lets you specify a column width/row height at will.

Note: the column width must be between 0 (zero) to 2000 and the row height between 0 (zero) to 409. If a column/row has 0 (zero) width/height, the column/row is hidden.


Set a column to a specified width

  1. Select a column or columns to be changed and choose Home > Cells > Format .

  2. Select Column Width… and in the Column Width dialog box, type the value you want in the Column Click OK.


Set a row to a specified height

  1. Select a row or rows to be changed and choose Home > Cells > Format .

  2. Select Row Height… and in the Row Height dialog box, type the value you want in the Row Height Click OK.


Adjust the column width to automatically fit the contents (AutoFit)

  1. Select a column or columns to be changed and choose Home > Cells > Format .

  2. Select AutoFit Column Width. To quickly autofit all columns on the worksheet, Ctrl+A to select all and then select AutoFit Column Width to autofit all columns on the worksheet.


Adjust the row height to automatically fit the contents (AutoFit)

  1. Select a row or rows to be changed and choose Home > Cells > Format .

  2. Select AutoFit Row Height. To quickly autofit all rows on the worksheet, Ctrl+A to select all and then select AutoFit Row Height to autofit all rows on the worksheet.
