Collaboration empowers you to invite partners within the same LAN or on the internet to co-edit the same document concurrently. Other features include inviting/removing partners, setting up access code and using Secure Mode to ensure information security.


LAN collaboration

  1. Open a PDF document and choose Advanced > Collaboration > Collaboration .

  2. In the pop-up Right PDF Editor dialog box, set a nickname to let others identify you and click OK. To change the name, click the Rename Nickname button and type in a new name. Click OK.

  3. Under the LAN Collaboration tab , check Visible to users in the same LAN and click the Start Collaboration In the LAN Collaboration dialog box, select partners by doing either of the following:

    • Select individual partners you want to work with.

    • Using Select All or Unselect All.

  1. To further ensure document security, click the Security Setup >>> button and select the options:

    • Set up a join password: Security Setup > Access Code.

    • Select either Normal or Secure mode for the collaboration: Security Setup > Security Option > Normal/Secure Mode.

  1. Click Start.


Online collaboration

  1. Open a PDF document and choose Advanced > Collaboration > Collaboration .

  2. In the pop-up Right PDF Editor dialog box, set a nickname to let others identify you and click OK. To change the name, click the Rename Nickname button and type in a new name. Click OK.

  3. Under the Online Collaboration tab , choose either Start Collaboration or Join Collaboration:

    • If you are the initiator, select Start Collaboration to launch a new collaboration. Reviewers who know the collaboration ID can join it and edit the same document with you. In the Collaboration Setup dialog box, choose a security option and click Setup. The dialog box then shows the Collaboration ID and the Security Option you chose. Click Copy to copy the information to clipboard, and Start to start collaboration. Afterwards, forward the collaboration ID to other reviewers.

    • If you are a reviewer, select Join Collaboration to join in an ongoing collaboration. In the Join a Collaboration dialog box, enter the ID in the Collaboration ID field box and click Join.

  1. In the [filename_Collaboration] document you can see all reviewers’ nicknames listed in the Collaboration panel. You can click Exit to exit and terminate the session. If you forget the collaboration ID, click Collaboration information. To track what each reviewer is doing on the document, click on Show User As and choose either Current Tool and ID or Laser Pointer and ID in the upper right corner of the document.

Note: if you choose to proceed with Secure mode, other members cannot save the document and the document will be deleted after you quit the meeting or the meeting ends.
