Types of Form Field
Right PDF provides you with several form tools to create different types of fields. To create a field, select the tool depending on the type of field you want and then drag a rectangle where you want to add the field.
You can create the following types of field in Editor:
Button. Button is usually created for clearing form data, showing or hiding fields, or submitting a form. You can set the actions for the buttons depending on what you want them to behave.
Check Box. Check box allows users to select one or more different options. For example, it can be added to a customer survey form for customers to check the benefits they got from a product.
Radio Button. Radio Button is basically the same as what Check Box does in form fields, but is often employed to present users with a group of mutually exclusive options. For example, there may be a question asking if you are single or married and you are restricted to selecting only one option. The rest of the options are disabled after you finish selecting.
Combo Box. Combo box is used when you want to create menus and offer options for recipients to choose from. The Combo Box displays a drop-down menu and uses the down-pointing arrow to expand the list. You can set up the options to display in the Options tab of the Combo Box Properties dialog box.
List Box. List Box is a scrollable list with a scroll bar on the side that allows users to navigate through all options. To select two or more options from the list, check Multiple Selection in the Options tab of the List Box Properties dialog box and hold down Ctrl while selecting.
Text Field. Text Field allows recipients to type text directly within the created field.
Digital Signature. Digital Signature is used for creating a field where recipient can apply their individual signature.
Date Field. Date Field enables users to enter a date value by either using a date picker or typing the date. Technically, Date Field is just Text Field with a predefined date format.
Image Field. Image Field allows users to submit an image through your form. Technically, Image Field is just Button with a predefined action.
Barcode Tool. Barcode fields turn form entries into a visual pattern that can be easily scanned and interpreted.
