Add multimedia to PDFs
Using Movie/ Sound tools, you can add movie clips or audio files to the document and make it easy for audience to understand your ideas. Besides adding multimedia files, you can also do it by entering a URL that refers to a video or streaming media.
You need to install an appropriate application, such as Windows Media Player®, or Windows Built-In Player, to play the multimedia.
Add a video or a sound file to a page
-
Open a PDF file and choose Advanced > Multimedia > Movie
or Sound
.
-
Drag or double-click to select the area on the page where you want the video clip or the sound file to appear.
-
In the Add Sound/ Add Movie dialog box, select the options to configure content and cover settings and then click OK:
-
-
Content Settings. Make the multimedia file compatible with a PDF version. For example, if you choose PDF 1.5 and later, only applications supporting version 1.5 or later can play the multimedia files. Then add a URL in the Location field or click the Browse… button to find the media file.
-
Embed content in document. Directly embed the file to play into the page.
-
Snap to content proportions. It ensures that the play area retains the height and width ratios of the original video or interactive content. This setting is available only for adding a movie file.
-
Note: the media is placed within the area that you specify on the page. E.g. the movie will only play within the area (however, you may view it in full screen by double-clicking). After selecting either tool, you may also double-click anywhere on the page to place the multimedia file accordingly.
