Reduce PDF file size

Right PDF Editor provides various ways for you to reduce the size of PDF files. You can choose to remove unwanted data from a PDF file or shrink the images the file contains.

Reduce file size using Inspect Document

A PDF file may contain data that can be removed to reduce the size of it, including bookmarks, comments, document attachments, deleted content, destinations, form fields and actions, and more. The Inspect Document feature allows you to remove unwanted data from an existing PDF file.

1. Open a PDF file and choose Security > Inspect Document > Inspect Document .

2. In the Inspect Document dialog box, select the items to remove and click Remove.

3. Click OK to make the changes permanent.

4. Choose File > Save or Save as to save the processed PDF file.

Shrink all images using Reduce File Size

Reduce File Size lets you reduce the size of your PDF documents by compressing images, streamlining objects, and removing unnecessary data. You are able to control the desired size of output by adjusting the size/quality slider bar. Further, you can also reduce the size of multiple files with the same setting so that you do not have to work on it one by one.

Reduce File Size provides five predefined ratios you can choose from to decide the most ideal outcome. If you choose to go for higher compression, you get smaller file size with less image quality, whereas you can use lower compression for higher image quality.

Compression controls

Using the slider bar in the Reduce File Size dialog box, you can choose a predefined size/quality ratio.

The ratios available are:

• Level 100 (least compression, highest quality)

• Level 75

• Level 50 (the default ratio, Medium compression, medium quality)

• Level 25

• Level 0

Setting image compression to reduce file size

1. Open a PDF document and choose Advanced > Optimize PDF > Reduce File Size .

2. In the Reduce File Size dialog box, under Image Settings, adjust the slider bar for a desired size/quality ratio. Click OK and save the file. Note that the slider bar affects only images within a document. To apply the ratio to multiple documents, click Apply to multiple, add the files you want to compress and then click OK:

• • Click Add Files… to add multiple files to the list. Select one or more files and then click Open.

  • Click Add Open Files… to add currently open files to the list. Ctrl-click to select multiple files and then click Add Files.

  • Click Delete to remove files from the list. Click to highlight one or more files you want to remove from the list and then click Delete.

3. In the Output Options dialog box, follow the on-screen instructions to specify Target Folder and File Naming for the output files as needed and then click
