  1. Choose Home > Edit > Find & Replace .

  2. In the Find and Replace dialog box, click the Find tab to find text or numbers, or the Replace tab to find and replace text or numbers.

  3. In the Find what field, enter the text or numbers you want to search for and then in the Search Options area, define your search criteria by doing the following:

    • Search. Search for data in rows or columns. In the Search drop-down menu, select either By Row or By Column.

    • Look in. Search for data with specific details. In the Look in drop-down menu, select Formulas, Values or All.

    • Match case. Check to search for case-sensitive data.

    • Match half/full width forms. Matches half- and full-width characters in search results.

    • Find whole words only. Check to search for the cells that contain the exact characters you typed in the Find what field. Text that is part of another word is ignored.

  1. Do either of the following to find text or numbers:

    • Find All. Click to display every occurrence of the criteria you search for in the list down below. Then, you can click a specific occurrence in the list to make the selected cell active.

    • Find Next. Click to go to the next occurrence. This does not make a list of occurrences.

  1. To replace the selected occurrence or all occurrences, enter the replacement characters in the Replace with field under the Replace tab and click either Replace or Replace All.
